18 Month Checkup
Bailey had her 18 month checkup today. She weighs 27.1 pounds, 32.5 inches tall and her head is 19.5 inches (off the charts again). I was really surprised to see the weight gain since she is only drinking about 25 ounces of the Nutren Jr. a day. She must have a low metabolism or she is sneaking in calories somewhere. She does drink a little tea everyday but it's not very sweet and doesn't have a lot of calories. We were concerned about her left ear because she still plays with it, holds it and acts like it's still bothering her. After checking on it, her doctor said it's still not completely healed so we are starting another antibiotic tonight, this time an oral one since she is taking her bottles a little better. I hope this one will clear it up.
Bailey keeps spitting up. She spit up at 10am yesterday on our way out the door. And again at 4am this morning. I was afraid to feed her earlier when she wanted another bottle since she had just spit that one up. I'm not sure if the ear infection is contributing to the increase in spitting up or if she is beginning to teeth again or what is going on. Sometimes she will reflux a little and start crying. I hope they will have a monitor when she goes for her PH probe that will tell us what the readings are and when.
She got her first MMR shot. Next visit, at 21 months, we will begin the Hep B or do the Hep A. She is almost caught up on her vaccs now. We are taking her back in at 21 months so her ped can go over her feeding issues and keep her weight monitored. She feels that 6 months is too long since Bailey is still having so many issues with her feeding that needs attention.
We had her 2nd feeding therapy of the new year this afternoon and she was not cooperative at all. She didn't want to have anything at all to do with food, not even play with it. So I really feel that was a wasted appt. Hopefully the next one will go much better.
