Now what...?

Now What...?
Well... after watching Bailey continue to struggle, and after some more research online, we are going to check into other possible anatomical problems that could be delaying Bailey's development with solid foods/table foods. Last night she gagged and vomited while trying to eat her dinner (potatoes and stuffing). The gagging for her is pretty normal but vomiting as a result so far has not been. Dr. Silkstone, her ped, is in agreement and wants to see Bailey on Monday for a weight check and to see if she can detect any enlarged adenoids, tonsils, or anything else that could possibly be the culprit. She also wants Bailey to see a ped GI doctor to see if she needs a scope at this point. We know she spits up, we know she has reflux, but we aren't sure how severe her reflux is and if it could be delaying her development. It seems as if Bailey tries table foods, and after a while she either gives up, loses interest for some reason, or finds it too troublesome or uncomfortable to continue. I sit and watch her eat a lot (if I'm not busy cooking) and it's hard for me to tell what all the variables are. One last issue is possible allergies. Bradley dealt with allergies and it improved tremendously after treatment with Zyrtec. So maybe this could be interfering with Bailey as well.

So far she has done well without Prevacid. But it can take a while for erosion to build up again. Another reason for the possible scope is due to her lack of improvement despite reflux therapy. She still coughs, particularly after eating. I haven't noticed any pain or fussing as a result. This is good! I assume.
