Moving right along
We are moving right along! Bailey has 6 white bumps on her gums from teeth coming through. Her first molar is through but not come up all the way yet. Her feeding has been gradually getting a little bit better. It really varies on the day and her temperment. Today she tried some toaster strudel, grilled cheese, and mac n cheese. I'm not sure how much made it to her belly. She did eat almost a while slice of cheese and get this...let me spoon feed her some ice cream! Woohoo!! Life is good. I can tell she has gained her weight back from her lack round of sickness so I'm sure another bug will be invading again soon.
She is Diego crazy! Dora is her first love but now it's all about Diego. So I bought her a Diego book today at Target. She is crazy about that book! I can't wait to take her and Bradley to the Go Diego Go live next month. I think I am more excited about it than they are! I have been recording more of the Dora/Diego shows on the DVD thing so she can watch them at her leisure instead of when they are scheduled to come on.
She loves to dance! Shake her booty! She puts her hands on her hips/butt and twists like Dora. it's so cute to watch. We tried to get it on the camera earlier.
And therapy, last week went so well. I took Cool Whip, her all time favorite, and it worked like a charm. So she really got a chance to open up some instead of crying through the entire session. If this doesn't get any better, I think I need to insist on home sessions to see if that helps. She is doing so much better at home now! It amazes me the different textures she takes over what Bradley preferred. She hates pudding/yogurt and gummies, but he loved that stuff. She loves chips (but not to swallow), rice, puffs, but Bradley always struggled with it. I have noticed that the tiny bites she takes are more likely to get swallowed. When she takes a big bit (or normal sized one) it is likely to get spit out. It's as if she is learning to swallow these foods instead of gagging/vomiting on them. Once again, some progress!
Finally, on the vomiting/spitting up. We are about at 2 weeks now since the last incident. I hope I haven't jinxed that but if so, whatever! I'm just glad to get a break from all the extra clean up.
OMG and I have to update on her speech, which is also amazing! Probably nothing near normal but still, she is progressing well on her own. She is putting together some 2 word phrases but it's almost always bye dada, maria, kitty. She says bye dado to me just like she says it to daddy so she is getting there but still working on it. The other day when her daddy came home I said Daddy's home. And then she comes running in saying dado home. haha! She has added some new words, not sure if they count or not. But she tries and is getting better. Some of her favorites are du for tea in a sippy or the boys' juice (she isn't a juice drinker), du du is for the train that comes by the house frequently, do for done or maybe it's short for here you go? She says eye and ba (for butt), de for cheese or any other type of food, dado is kind of generic for many things such as Dora, dada, shoes, to go outside, and maybe signal some hunger pains also.
I think that's it for now. Hopefully no more updates for a couple more weeks! That would mean she is doing great!!
