First Haircut
The boys went camping so I took Bailey for her first haircut today. After losing many, many bows, I have given up hope of trying to keep them in her hair. She pulls them out now in 2 minutes or less (or when I'm not looking). They end up going MIA and it's getting pricey. So I reluctantly opted for bangs as a cheaper and easier alternative. After discussing the length and naturally tapered ends, I decided to leave the sides and back alone for now and just have her bangs trimmed. It took all of 5 minutes to get her situated in the chair (kitty in one hand, lollipop in the other), trimmed up, hair blown dry, and then she was ready to go. I'll post before and after pictures once the camera returns from its trip to Stone Mountain Park, NC.
And how did the camera get there? Bailey and I took a day trip today to see the boys. There was no cell phone coverage so it was a surprise trip there. Bailey went straight for the dirt and was digging and scooting around in it in no time. She was so happy to get out of the house and have some time to play. We took them on a hike around the mountain, or should I say up the 600 foot mountain? We thought we were going on a leisure walk to the falls but got misdirected and ended up hiking to the summit while Bailey napped on our shoulders. She walked quite a while up so I do need to give her credit for that. She did great with minimal fussing, only when she was too tired to continue. Of course Bradley had his share of exhaustion also but there was no way I could lug a 50 pound boy up a mountain. They all did great and had a better time on the hike down. I believe it took us about 5 hours to do the 4.5 mile strenuous loop. Kids love to observe and stop and play along the way though. We made it back to the campsite around 5pm and had cheeseburgers for dinner before it cooled off considerably so Bailey and I packed up and headed home. I hope they stay warm, there is a freeze warning for tonight.
