One big purple bump
Bailey walked into a wall today. It was the corner of a wall actually. And of course the wall had the hard metal strip in it so when she hit it, it knocked her flat on her back. I was right behind her when it happened and scooped her right up to check on her. She was upset but not too terribly so. I pull her hair back to wipe her tears and there it is...one big purple bump. It swelled up so fast and was so big I was a bit startled but very grateful that she wasn't bleeding. I'm sure that would have made for one huge mess. She calmed down quickly and seemed fine but I could tell it still hurt because she kept messing with it, squishing it, hitting it showing me what happened. I couldn't watch her touch it, it made me too lightheaded. She did fine with it though, no vomiting or dizziness (other than usual). Whew! Thank goodness for bangs though. They hides the damage very well.
And while I am here I should update on how she is doing. Her reflux is still bothering her but no more spit ups. She has been coughing a lot and trying hard to keep everything down. I don't know why it is bothering her lately. It is affecting her eating also though. She will try to eat and keep coughing and gagging and then eventually give up on the whole thing. Sometimes I will intervene and give her a bottle instead. Her therapy was cancelled today by the therapist so I'm going to give her a break until next week.
