Peas Porridge Hot

275 - Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot 9 days old...This always brings on a smile and calms her down!

Bailey turned 9 months old Saturday(40 weeks old too!). She is getting so big. More tummy time, she is turning around on her belly more now and doesn't fuss quite as much about it. She likes to play fetch, throw her toys and try to reach for them and then fuss when she can't. She squeals with delight when she can anticipate something. And she pulls my hair just like Bradley used to when he was her size. As a matter of fact, when she is upset or sleepy, she pulls on it and twists it around her fingers to soothe herself. She loves bath time and her washcloth to chew on and will throw a fit if you try to take it away. She thrives on routines which can be scary because Patrick did also. When she is playing alone, she can twist herself around and pull and push herself along on the kitchen floor to get to what she wants. She knows how to clap her hands now and to shake her head no. She will shake her head just being silly and when she is done eating. She will also do it to mimic us.

We took her camping over the weekend. She woke up at 11:30 Friday night and cried for about 20 minutes before we got her settled again. So I let her sleep at home Saturday night and she did so much better.

I ran out of food at the campground and tried feeding her some mixed cereal with apples from beechnut. She did great with it! I was so surprised and scared it would cause a lot of gagging but she did remarkably well with it and finished the entire jar. I also gave her some pears and pineapples and she did good with those also. We went back to the basics on fruits like apples, pears, bananas instead of the blends and I wonder if that helped? She was having some problems gagging earlier in the week if she consumed more than 6 ounces at a time so I started giving her smaller, more frequent meals again.

She has been scratching at her left ear again and I hope it's not infected. She isn't showing any other signs and hasn't had a cold, so hopefully it is just from her finding her ears.

She loves Dora so much. Maybe I need to plan her a Dora party for her very first birthday?
