It's official!

Well, I mentioned some big news coming and it's here now. As originally planned, Bailey would return to daycare this fall, and I would return to a FT job. However, we have decided as a family to change my career path so that my schedule would be similar to that of the kids while they are in school. After looking around at all the options available (non teaching positions vs teaching, online vs classroom setting, 2yr community college vs 4 year university) we have a game plan! I will go back to school for a BA in a Teaching education program through a neighboring community college's AA online degree program for the core courses. This will transfer to a NC University at a Jr level and I can finish up a specific teaching degree with one of the 4 year universities available through the reciprocal agreement. I will then start teaching and once settled, start working on a Master's degree. The Master's will open more options for me and allow me to continue to move up the ladder in education. Once the kids are all grown up, I may pursue teaching at a college or university level.

This actually works out pretty well since Bailey will be able to stay home longer, and we can keep the boys out of daycare type settings. Bailey begins school in 3 years, at which time my coursework would involve much more time away from home.

So that is the new game plan. Let's just hope we can figure out a way to afford it now!!
