50 weeks old

Bailey is 50 weeks old! I'll have to get her birthday invitations out in the mail tomorrow! Time sure does fly by that first year.
In the past week, Bailey has become so much faster with her crawling. She can fly across a room now in no time. She does squats to exercise and build muscle in her legs to prepare her for more walking. She is beginning to cruise around just a little, but still prefers crawling as her main mode of transportation. She loves to chase Maria around and the poor cat hardly ever gets a break with 3 kids after her all the time. Bailey does great with her fine motor skills, pincer grasp, she has learned to shake her head no when she reslly means it stead of just at random. She likes to try to put stuff in and take stuff out, taste it, move it around, taste it again, throw it, go get it, taste it again, and do it all over again. It keeps her busy for a while. She loves looking at mirrors and will smile and talk to the little baby in there. She does very well with peek a boo and hide n seek and the boys love it. She really enjoys playing on the train table and it is the perfect height for her. We also let her play in the sand table when it isn't too hot outside.
We have also tried more table foods on her to try and get her interested in more foods instead of just formula all day. She will pick up and try most foods but after a bite or two, she usually isn't interested anymore. I can occassionally (maybe twice a week) get almost a whole container of babyfood in her. She loves to try everything though, even the meats. We took her to a pizza buffet last night and she had a blast with the fruit, pudding, pizzas and made the biggest mess yet. I'm just glad she did it there instead of my clean kitchen! She had food all over her and let everyone know in the restaurant know how good of a time she was having. Her appetite has perked up just a little since crawling around and I am assuming it's because of the extra calories she is burning up everyday. She takes in up to 30-32 ounces of formula a day lately, plus her daily serving of cereal, and a handful of solids, if any. She still gags on the table foods and babyfoods but it's minimal. She does a very good job trying to control it. I have given her american cheese, pudding, crackers, Gerber banana crackers, Gerber fruit wheels, pears, and peaches. The only thing I know she swallowed is a tiny bit of cheese. The rest is a mystery because it always ends up everywhere and it's hard to tell if any part of it is still missing.
