I have consulted with Shauna (SLP) Dr. Christiaanse, and Susan regarding Bailey's solid food refusal. She is on her maximum dose of prevacid allowed until 30kg. And she is no longer gagging on the solids. She just isn't interested in them at all. They all suggested a more proactive and 'aggressive' approach by putting on some music, giving her a favorite toy to play with, distracting her to get her to open her mouth and lots of praise. Up to this point, she has never opened her mouth for solids. I give her preferred foods most often. I find that if she takes one bite of squash, she refuses the rest of the meal. So maybe she doesn't like squash huh???
